'Jou Geldsake' het nou 320 000 lesers (Original article was on www.finace24.com)

More money matters (Original Article by Kim Penstone on Marketing Web)
Beeld's popular supplement, Jou Geldsake (Your money matters), has gone national and weekly. The supplement, which used to be published every other week and distributed with Beeld, is now being published weekly, and distributed with Beeld, Volksblad and Die Burger.
This, says editor Flip Meyer, gives the supplement a potential combined readership of well over 900 000, stretching from Limpopo and Gauteng through Bloemfontein and KwaZulu-Natal, and into the Cape.
Meyer explains that the change in frequency has been driven primarily by the supplement’s success over the past seven years, both in terms of its ability to raise revenue and attract readers.
“People now want to know more about their personal money matters rather than leave all decisions to experts and financial advisors,” he says. “They want to take part in the decision making process and Jou Geldsake helps them to do so in an informed manner.”
He adds, however, that the move also makes editorial sense: “It’s not easy to provide sound financial advice when you have a break of two weeks between issues; a lot can change in that time”
The existing team of Wilma de Bruin, Stephan Welz and Maarten Mittner will be complemented by a number of specialist writers, including the likes of Deon Basson (six-time winner of the Sanlam Financial Journalist of the Year), Fadia Salie and Daan Joubert.
According to Meyer, the supplement is essentially the same across the three papers. "I believe that people read news, especially business news, on a national basis," he says. "it's my job to keep the news standardized across the three supplements". He adds, however, that each supplement is published by the individual papers and will include some localized pieces.
Jou Geldsake will be distributed with Beeld and Volksblad every Thursday, and with Die Burger on Saturdays.
